Ed Sheeran has released a brand-new song called “Drive” ahead of the premiere of F1: The Movie. The song will be included on The F1: The Album. The song was released on Thursday, right before the movie’s June 27 debut. The much awaited film, which stars Brad Pitt and was directed by Joseph Kosinski, will be released at the same time as its official soundtrack.

John Mayer and Blake Slatkin produced the song “Drive,” which features Mayer on guitar, Dave Grohl on drums, bassist Pino Paladino, and keyboardist Rami Jaffee from the Foo Fighters. Slatkin also provides additional keyboards and rhythm programming.

F1: The Album was produced and directed by Kevin Weaver, president of Atlantic Records West Coast, who also produced the soundtracks for Barbie The Album, Twisters: The Album, The Greatest Showman, Suicide Squad, Daisy Jones & The Six, and Birds of Prey. He also collaborated with Brandon Davis, evp and co-head of Pop/Rock A&R at Atlantic Records, and Joseph Khoury, svp A&R/marketing.

The album was executive produced by Kosinski and Jerry Bruckheimer, with music supervisors David Taylor and Jake Voulgarides.

Star-studded cast

Along with Doja Cat, Rosé, Chris Stapleton, Roddy Rich, Myke Towers, Tate McRae, Burna Boy, and RAYE, Sheeran is part of the stellar roster that is also featured on the soundtrack.

In F1: The Movie, Pitt plays Sonny Hayes, a former Formula One driver who returns from retirement to coach and work with Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), a younger driver. Starring are Javier Bardem, Kim Bodnia, Tobias Menzies, and Kerry Condon.

Ehren Kruger wrote the screenplay, which Kosinski directs. Kosinski and Kruger both wrote the story. exec Daniel Lupi produces. The movie was produced by Lewis Hamilton, who is widely regarded as the face of Formula One and has won seven world championships.

In connection with the Warner Bros. Pictures movie’s theatrical premiere on Friday, June 27, Atlantic Records’ F1: The Album will be available for pre-order and accessible for purchase in stores and online.
