The first trailer for Deliver Me From Nowhere features Jeremy Allen White in his best role as Bruce Springsteen.
Fans adore Springsteen’s 1982 album Nebraska for its unique, eerie acoustic sound, which was recorded at a critical juncture in the singer’s life. The new trailer for the 20th Century Studios biopic, Springsteen: Deliver Me from Nowhere, provides the first glimpse of the highly anticipated film.
Director Scott Cooper, who wrote the script for the screen based on the book Deliver Me from Nowhere by Warren Zanes, said in a statement, “Making Springsteen was deeply moving as it allowed me to step inside the soul of an artist I’ve long admired – and to witness, up close, the vulnerability and strength behind his music. The experience felt like a journey through memory, myth, and truth. And more than anything, it was a privilege to translate that raw emotional honesty to the screen, and in doing so, it changed me. I cannot thank Bruce and Jon Landau enough for allowing me to tell their story.”
As Springsteen penned and recorded Nebraska, he was on the cusp of becoming a true worldwide phenomenon, having just released the critically acclaimed Born to Run album. Springsteen recorded the album in his bedroom in New Jersey using a 4-track recorder.
Jeremy Strong plays Springsteen’s longtime confidant and manager, Jon Landau; Paul Walter Hauser plays guitar tech Mike Batlan; Stephen Graham plays Springsteen’s father, Doug; Odessa Young plays Faye, a romantic interest; Gaby Hoffman plays Springsteen’s mother, Adele; Marc Maron plays Chuck Plotkin; and David Krumholtz plays Columbia executive Al Teller. White plays Springsteen in the movie.
October 24 marks the release of Springsteen: Deliver Me From Norwhere in theaters. Cooper, Ellen Goldsmith-Vein, Scott Stuber, and Eric Robinson are the film’s producers. Executive producers include Zanes, Jon Vein, and Tracey Landon.
