The latest album from Tyler the Creator, Don’t Tap the Glass, will be released on Monday, July 21. Officially announcing the album’s debut, his Golf Wang website unveiled unique merchandise on Friday night, including vinyl, t-shirts, and hats.
Tyler blurted out the album title while on stage at his Brooklyn gig tonight. The record cover with the title emblazoned on the front was replicated in an installation for his show.
After “Chromakopia” last year, Tyler’s ninth album will be “Don’t Tap the Glass.” That record, which was only revealed two weeks before to its release in late October, similarly came without a lengthy rollout. A “Chromakopia” globe tour with special guests Lil Yachty and Paris Texas accompanied “Chromakopia,” which included guest appearances by Doechii, Childish Gambino, GloRilla, and Lil Wayne.
Actress Ayo Edibiri plays a crazy fan who goes up to Tyler with tears running down her face in the music video for “Noid,” the album’s first full single and music video, which Tyler released in tandem with the tour announcement.
Tyler is now on his “Chromakopia” tour, which ends on Friday at Brooklyn’s Barclays Center after a four-night run in New York City. He will continue touring North America before traveling abroad to Australia, Japan, South Korea, and Thailand. On September 20–21, he will land in the Philippines for two last shows at Araneta Coliseum.
Tyler recently appeared as a guest on Clipse’s new album “Let God Sort Em Out” with the song “P.O.V.” during the tour. During a recent performance, he honored the Virginia duo by bringing out a vinyl record of their debut album.
