The official release date of Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist’s next album, Alfredo 2, is July 25.
This announcement comes after the release of the opening single, “1995,” mysterious teasers, and a special advance showing of Alfredo: The Movie in Los Angeles. Alfredo: The Movie, which was directed by Nick Walker and shot in Japan, provides an enigmatic glimpse into the world of Alfredo 2. Operating out of a ramen shop and ostensibly laundering money, Gibbs and The Alchemist are portrayed in the movie as partners navigating a harsh, stylized criminal underground. A noir aesthetic with shady transactions and incisive lyrics is established by this cinematic reintroduction.
One hundred signed vinyl albums will be made available only on Amazon to commemorate the launch. On July 19, a unique event at the HVW8 Gallery in Los Angeles will also feature a limited-edition clothing capsule, a picture exhibition, an album listening, and a movie screening.
Following the initial release in 2020, Alfredo 2 is the second album in the series. Its predecessor received a 2021 GRAMMY nomination for Best Rap Album.
Watch Alfredo: The Movie above and listen to “1995” by Freddie Gibbs and The Alchemist on Spotify and Apple Music. It will be released on July 25th.
