Bradley Cooper’s most recent directing endeavor is Is This Thing On?, the much awaited sequel to A Star Is Born and Maestro. A significant addition to Cooper’s expanding body of work as a filmmaker, the film, which stars Will Arnett, demonstrates his ongoing focus on complex, character-driven narrative.
Release Date
After making its debut at the New York Film Festival on October 10, the movie opens in theaters on December 19.

Storyline
Arnett plays a divorced man who finds new meaning in the New York comedy scene, while Laura Dern’s character, his wife, struggles with the sacrifices she made for their family.

Cooper co-wrote the screenplay with Arnett and Mark Chappell, and he directed the film. Cooper, Arnett, Weston Middleton, and Kris Thykier are among the producers.
Cooper’s Directorial Work
Is This Device Active? Cooper, who co-wrote and performed in the film as conductor and composer Leonard Bernstein, is directing the follow-up to Maestro, which was released in 2023. Cooper’s performance and script were nominated for two of the seven Oscars for the Netflix film, in addition to best picture.
Cooper, who made his directorial debut with 2018’s A Star Is Born, had a cameo in Superman this summer for his Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn.
Next Goal Wins and a voiceover in the Twisted Metal television series are among Arnett’s most recent credits. Dern will appear with Adam Sandler and George Clooney in Noah Baumbach’s next Netflix movie, Jay Kelly.
