Eli Roth’s The Horror Section, a low-budget, spooky found-footage stunner that has been making waves at horror festivals around the world, has been picked up for its second installment.
Co-directed by and Release Date
The film “Dream Eater,” which stars Williams and Drumm and was co-written and co-directed by Jay Drakulic, Mallory Drumm, and Alex Lee Williams, will make its theatrical debut on October 24.
Storyline
“The story follows Mallory (Drumm), a documentary filmmaker, who heads to a remote cabin in the mountains with her boyfriend Alex (Williams) to document his violent parasomnia. As his condition worsens, Mallory suspects something more sinister may be at play. As the nightmares escalate, so do the scares, right through the final frame.”
Vortex Media, which will also manage distribution in Canada, served as the executive producer and financier of the movie. Justin Rebelo and Bill Marks represented Vortex Media, while Jon Schnaars and Connor DiGregorio negotiated the transaction on behalf of The Horror Section.
The Horror Section’s second acquisition is “Dream Eater,” following Joe Begos’ graphic extraterrestrial freakout “Jimmy & Stiggs,” which opens in theaters on August 15.
