The Cat in the Hat, an animated film from Warner Bros., is scheduled to be the first production under the recently rebranded Warner Bros. Pictures Animation branch.
New Release Date
The Cat in the Hat, an animated event film from Warner Bros., will now open in theaters on November 6, 2026, instead of February 27, 2026.
Story Basis
The picture, the first release from the recently reopened Warner Bros. Pictures Animation branch, will have a longer runway to play throughout the year-end holidays when families and children are more accessible, according to the studio.
Voice Cast
The Cat, spoken by Bill Hader, is based on the well-known Dr. Seuss story. Xochitl Gomez, Matt Berry, Quinta Brunson, Paula Pell, Tiago Martinez, Giancarlo Esposito, America Ferrera, Bowen Yang, and Tituss Burgess are also part of the A-list voice cast.
Team Production
According to the film’s synopsis, Warner Bros. Pictures Animation and Dr. Seuss Enterprises are collaborating on the feature, which follows the imaginative cat as he attempts to comfort two siblings who are having a hard time adjusting to their new town in a brand-new, epic journey where mayhem, magic, and mischief rule supreme. It is Hader’s first animated feature film.
Alessandro Carloni and Erica Rivinoja are writing and directing Cat in the Hat, while Daniela Mazzucato and Jared Stern are producing. Hader will executive produce alongside Dr. Seuss Enterprises president and CEO Susan Brandt. The animation studio partner will be DNEG Animation.
Some of Warners’ biggest releases, such as the Harry Potter series, were released in November. In terms of cooperation programs and merchandising, the holiday season is also beneficial.
The Cat in the Hat, written by Dr. Seuss, was published in 1957 and quickly became a beloved classic for children of all ages. This will be the character’s first animated big-screen appearance; a live-action version starring Mike Myers was released in 2003.
