Google has announced that it will host an event on Search and AI on February 8. The company is getting ready to fight ChatGPT and other AI rivals with this development.

“Reimagining how people search for, explore and interact with information, making it more natural and intuitive than ever before to find what you need,” Google claims. “greater access to information for people everywhere, through Search, Maps and beyond” will be the outcome of this. In order to carry out those actions, Google will “use the power of AI.”

The event, which has a livestream on YouTube titled “Google presents: Live from Paris” features artwork that also demonstrates Shopping and Google Lens’ visual translation and search capabilities. At 2:30 p.m. CET (5:00 a.m. PT / 8:30 a.m. ET), it will take place.

The format of this is similar to that of the company’s annual Search On events, which are typically held in the fall. However, Microsoft is rumored to be integrating Open AI’s ChatGPT into Bing at the same time as this event. Google’s announcements were initially anticipated to take place at I/O 2023 (which is thought to take place in May), but it appears that they will be made much more quickly next week.

Sundar Pichai stated the following during the Alphabet Q4 2022 earnings call this afternoon: As a complement to Search, people will soon be able to interact directly with our most recent and effective language models in novel and experimental ways.
