Ariana Grande and Ilya Salmanzadeh are in charge of production and songwriting for her eighth studio album, Petal, which will be released by Republic Records on July 31.

Album Theme

“Something that is full of life and growing through the cracks of something cold and hard and challenging” is how Grande characterizes the album in the announcement.]

Production & Credits

Ilya, whose real name is Ilya Salmanzadeh, is a Swedish-Persian producer who has worked closely with hitmaker Max Martin, co-produced and co-wrote a large portion of Grande’s 2024 album “Eternal Sunshine,” and scored hits with a variety of artists, including Taylor Swift and Sam Smith.

Tour Plans

Grande has been teasing the album with pictures of herself in the studio and has planned a summer tour that will begin in June, so it has long been anticipated.

Build-Up & Teasers

The declaration follows her three years of work on “Eternal Sunshine” and its 2025 deluxe edition, as well as the movie “Wicked” and its sequel.

Recent Work

The new record is probably going to be the tour’s high point, even though it was originally scheduled to feature “Eternal Sunshine” when it was first announced last year. Grande said that this tour might be her final one “for a long time.”

“The last 10 or 15 years will look very different to the ones that are coming up,” Grande said in an interview last year on Amy Poehler’s “Good Hang” podcast. “I don’t want to say anything definitive. I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long, long time. I’m going to give it my all and it’s going to be beautiful. I think that’s why I’m doing it because I’m like, ‘One last hurrah’”
