Despite Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s Netflix documentary, King Charles III and Queen Consort Camilla are in the mood for a little holiday cheer.

The official Christmas card from the Royal Family features a picture of the King and Queen Consort at the annual Braemar Highland Gathering in Scotland’s Princess Royal & Duke of Fife Memorial Park.

The family posted on Twitter, “We’re pleased to share this year’s Christmas Card from The King and The Queen Consort.”

The image, which was “taken at the Braemar Games in September 2022,” was credited to longtime royal photographer Samir Hussein by the monarchy.

The couple’s short and sweet message was attached to the candid photo, which was embossed in red ink in keeping with custom.

“Wishing you a very happy Christmas and New Year” is written on the opposite page in ink that is the same shade of scarlet.

Her Majesty is in charge of the nearly 1,000-year-old Braemar Games, which attract thousands of spectators to watch dancing, bagpipe competitions, and athletic competitions.

Due to her declining health, Queen Elizabeth II was unable to attend the ceremony this year. At the age of 96, she passed away on Sept. 8.

After giving up their royal status two years earlier, Harry and Meghan returned to the United States to resume their lives due to what they described as the British media’s intrusion and racist demeanor toward their family. While they were present for the queen’s funeral services, they did not return until shortly after.

Harry and Meghan have received negative criticism regarding the documentary ever since the first three episodes of their Netflix show were made available to the public.

On December 15, Kate Middleton will tape her ITV special, and additional episodes of the series will be released: Royal Carols: Together at Christmas.

King Charles III met Deadpool actor Ryan Reynolds in North Wales a few days after the episodes aired to talk about how he bought the Wrexham Association Football Club from Rob McElhenney.
