The film, which starred Mason Thames, Mel Gibson, Kevin James, Lorraine Bracco, and Patrick Renna, was released in theaters by Pastime Pictures in October of last year, right before Halloween.
In Monster Summer, a group of friends and a retired police detective work together to protect their island from an enigmatic presence.
Cornelius Ulian and Bryan Schulz wrote the screenplay, which Henrie directed. Dan McDonough, John Blanford, James Henrie, and Mark Fasano are among the producers.

Thames is now playing with Nico Parker and Gerard Butler in the Universal live-action film remake of How to Train Your Dragon, which was directed by Dean DeBlois. Thames is also well-known for the 2022 film Black Phone, and she starred in the films Regretting You and Black Phone 2 later this year.
Gibson is getting ready to film the follow-up to The Passion of the Christ and most recently helmed Lionsgate’s Mark Wahlberg-led drama Flight Risk.
