Preceding joining Gavi, he filled in as Boss Tasks Official of the Mastercard Establishment, quite possibly of the biggest confidential establishment on the planet. He was able to combine his personal desire to give back to the community with his extensive experience working in the private sector in this position. David led the redesign and implementation of a new operating model as well as a US$1.5 billion, two-year “saving lives and livelihoods” program to secure COVID-19 vaccines for the African continent, two of his accomplishments there.

David was a senior executive at Bristol Myers Squibb (BMS), a pharmaceutical company, prior to joining Mastercard Foundation. David led the design and implementation of a new organization-wide operating model and a multiyear transformation program in his previous position as Senior Vice President and Company Transformation Lead. Senior Vice President, Finance Operations at BMS was one of his previous executive positions; Mead Johnson Nutrition’s vice president of finance; and Controller of Philips Medical Systems’ Global Division.

David, a chartered accountant and financial expert who began his career in audit, has a passion for people and cultures. Through diversity and inclusion excellence and talent development, he has created significant business value.
