Aardman and Studiocanal are bringing back the beloved sheep for a third feature picture, Shaun the Sheep: The Beast of Mossy Bottom, which will be released in 2026. SKY will distribute the film in UK cinemas and on SKY Cinema, while Studiocanal will begin worldwide sales at Cannes in 2025.
Movie Release Date
The Beast of Mossy Bottom will be released in 2026. It is the sequel of Shaun the Sheep Movie (2015) and A Shaun the Sheep Movie: Farmageddon (2019), all of which received Oscar and BAFTA nominations.
Director and Producer
Steve Cox (Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas) and Matthew Walker (Lloyd of the Flies) direct the new film from a script by Mark Burton (Wallace & Gromit: Vengeance Most Fowl, Shaun the Sheep Movie) and Giles Pilbrow (Horrible Histories, Shaun the Sheep: The Flight Before Christmas). Richard Beek is the producer, while Nick Park, Peter Lord, Carla Shelley, and Sarah Cox are the studio executive producers.
Shaun, a spinoff of Aardman’s Wallace & Gromit series, made his debut in Wallace and Gromit: A Close Shave before gaining his own television series. The seventh season of the series is scheduled to premiere later this year.
Sky commissioned a Morph series as its inaugural Sky Kids Original production in 2016. The Comcast-owned network has already worked with Aardman on Make Your Own Movies with Merlin and Epic Adventures of Morph, and is now producing the third season of Aardman’s preschool show The Very Small Creatures.
Plot
Shaun the Sheep: The third Shaun the Sheep film will see the flock excitedly prepare for Halloween before the Farmer trashes their plans by wrecking the pumpkin patch. In order to salvage the festive occasion, Shaun decides to turn to science, but inadvertently unleashes chaos, as well as a wild beast in the woods of Mossingham.
