Yesterday (March 11), the Golden Raspberry Awards 2023 winners were announced, and Tom Hanks received his first Razzie for his performance in Elvis.

The “worst” films are honored each year with the Golden Raspberry Awards. Hanks won the Razzie for Worst Supporting Actor for his role as Colonel Tom Parker in Elvis, beating out Pete Davidson, Mod Sun, Evan Williams, and Xavier Samuel.

Hanks was likewise awarded a second Golden Raspberry in the wake of winning the Worst Screen Couple category for Elvis “and His Latex-Laden Face (and Ludicrous Accent)”.

He now joins a small group of actors who have won both an Oscar and a Razzie. Eddie Redmayne, Halle Berry, Jared Leto, and Nicole Kidman are on the list.

In another part of the ceremony, Leto won his second Razzie, this time for his performance in Morbius. Machine Gun Kelly was named the worst director for his work on Good Mourning, while Blonde was named the worst film.

The Razzies themselves won the award for worst actress elsewhere. It comes after the organization was criticized for initially nominating Ryan Kiera Armstrong, a Firestarter star who is 12 years old, for the award.

The Razzies apologized and removed Armstrong from the public ballot in response to the backlash. All nominees must now be 18 years old.
