Bollywood Roundup: The Most Prominent Returns in 2023!

Bollywood saw a spectacular comeback in 2023 for a number of legendary stars, most notably Shah Rukh Khan, who returned with two hits in a row, “Pathaan” and “Jawan.” The biggest hits of the year were also achieved by the Deol brothers at the same time. In the meantime, 2023 is the year that Bollywood film makes its biggest comebacks.

Shah Rukh’s “Pathaan” not only lived up to the tremendous hype surrounding its release but also became a significant box office success despite facing controversies.

“Jawan,” starring Shah Rukh Khan, debuted on Indian screens and made history by becoming the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2023, taking home an astounding Rs 643.87 crore at the box office. The film, which was directed by Atlee Kumar, is a huge hit and marks their first collaboration.

The successful return of veteran actor Sunny Deol was evidenced by the box office success of “Gadar 2,” which took in an impressive Rs 525.45 crore in India. A number of distributors felt more confident that the veteran stars would still have a market thanks to the film’s performance.

With “Animal,” Ranbir Kapoor’s greatest hit to date, he reached a career milestone and made a total revenue collection of Rs 470.58 crore. Despite receiving mixed reviews, Salman Khan’s “Tiger 3” performed admirably, earning Rs 284.52 crore. However, Salman’s movie isn’t doing well at the box office, and Animal continues to rule there.

The controversial film “The Kerala Story,” which garnered a lot of attention and took in Rs 242.20 crore at the Indian box office, turned into an unexpected success story. The movie is still unavailable on OTT platforms, though.

Ranveer Singh’s “Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani,” which brought in Rs 153.60 crore, is another of the year’s biggest hits. “OMG 2,” starring Akshay Kumar, was released amid a number of controversy, but it was a box office success, earning Rs 150.17 crore. Audiences were enthralled with Ranbir Kapoor’s “Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar” and Prabhas’ “Adipurush,” which together brought in Rs 135.04 crore.
