At the box office, Animal, starring Ranbir Kapoor, is smashing record after record. After a week in theaters, the movie doesn’t seem to be slowing down. Soon, it will surpass Sanju, which took in Rs 342.53 crore when it opened in theaters in 2018, as the highest-grossing movie of Ranbir Kapoor’s career.

Animal made Rs 312.96 crore nett in the domestic market up until Wednesday. Now on its seventh day in theaters, the movie earned Rs 15.13 crore thanks to strong morning and afternoon ticket sales. With this, the movie has now earned a total of Rs 328.48 crore. According to T-Series, the production company behind the movie, after six days, the movie has brought in a total of Rs 527.6 crore worldwide.

After Sanju and Brahmastra – Part One: Shiva (Rs 257.44 crore), Animal is Ranbir’s only third film to break the Rs 250 crore milestone. The actor’s initial role in a film was in Saawariya, directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali, but it didn’t end up working out as planned. In 2012, he scored his first Rs 100 crore with Barfi, directed by Anurag Basu.

Not only does Bobby Deol play a significant but brief role in Animal, but his success is particularly meaningful for Ranbir. Given the amount of support the public has been giving him for his role in the movie, the actor was even seen to be becoming emotional.

With no big releases in the upcoming week, Animal has a chance to draw in more viewers. The only film that will compete with it is Dunki, starring Shah Rukh Khan, which opens in theaters on December 21.
