The film Tumbbad, which was helmed by Rahi Anil Barve and starred Sohum Shah in the lead role, was re-released in theatres, to positive reviews on its first day of showings. The movie made more money on its first day of release (Rs 1.50 crore) than the recently released Hindi blockbuster The Buckingham Murders.
Tumbbad Does Well In The First Day Of Re-Release; Collects Rs 1.50 Crore
During its initial run, Tumbbad brought in just over Rs 12 crore. Although the movie was a box office failure, it did have a respectable trend. In its whole run, it performed about 25 times on the first day. Although the movie received positive reviews everywhere, it failed to generate the necessary number of viewers. A fantastic digital release helped the movie develop a cult following over time. The movie’s opening collections, which are three times higher than their original opening day back in 2018, undoubtedly reflect the rapid spread of word about its re-release. This is a significant accomplishment because the movie is already available for digital viewing.
Tumbbad Can Have A Verdict-Changing Re-Run
Tumbbad will undoubtedly want to replicate the receipts it made during the film’s initial release if it holds its own for a week or so. Even a slight alteration in the movie’s verdict will benefit from that. Yes, things can get more intriguing if the film significantly outpaces the original collections. Tumbbad might be the next movie to have a verdict-changing rerun, as there have been others in the past. In addition to Tumbbad, Veer Zaara has also been re-released, but in extremely limited quantities.
