The fourth installment of the action series that began with “Pitch Black” in 2000 will see Hollywood star Vin Diesel reunite with director David Twohy for “Riddick: Furya.”

An entertainment news source based in the United States claims that Twohy will direct from his script. Samantha Vincent and Diesel will star in the movie and produce.

Riddick finally returns to his home world in the new movie, a place he barely remembers and he worries could be destroyed by the Necromongers.

However, he discovers that other Furyans are fighting a new foe to maintain their existence there. Furthermore, some of these Furyans resemble Riddick more than he could have imagined.

According to what Twhoy said about the forthcoming project, “Our legion fans have demanded it for years, and now we’re finally ready to honor their call to action with Riddick: Furya.”

He continued, “My collaboration with Vin and One Race has spanned 20 fruitful years, as together we’ve created three movies, two video games, an anime production, and motion comics for the internet. This new big-screen event will see a return to Riddick’s homeworld, where we finally get to explore Riddick’s genesis.”

Following “Pitch Black,” Diesel and Twohy released “The Chronicles of Riddick” in 2004 and “Riddick” in 2013.

Diesel, who plays Groot in Marvel’s “Guardians of the Galaxy” and headlines the “Fast and Furious” saga, continues to be one of Hollywood’s most lucrative action stars. According to a report, he will appear in “Fast X,” “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3,” and “ARK: The Animated Series.”
