Inside the Kannada film industry, everyone knows that Natarakshasa Daali Dhananjaya is working with new director Parameshwar Gundkal on a film. Even the film’s name, “Kotee,” was unintentionally revealed by Dhananjaya; nevertheless, no other information about the movie is generally known. Along with the announcement that the teaser for the movie will be released soon, the team has officially announced the project today, marking Jio Studios’ debut in Kannada cinema.

Dhananjaya announced on social media that the teaser for Kotee will be unveiled on April 13 in honor of the auspicious occasion of Ugadi. 777 Charlie’s composer Nobin Paul, composer-singer and frequent Dhananjaya collaborator Vasuki Vaibhav, and cinematographer-editor Pratheek Shetty (of Kantara, Gandhada Gudi, etc.) are all on board, according to the poster, which features Dhananjaya wearing a lion-mane wig with Rs 500 notes plastered across his face. Moksha Kushal, an actress turned model, is paired opposite Dhananjaya, as was previously disclosed. Following the release of the teaser, more information is anticipated.

Despite being a first-time director, Parameshwar is well-known to Kannada viewers as the former business head of several general entertainment channels. His time at Colors Kannada, where he oversaw a number of popular shows, includes Bigg Boss Kannada. This is what makes Kotee so intriguing. Part of Jio Studios’ plan to enter the film and web series production business, the filmmaker—known as Param in industry circles—moved to lead the Kannada cinema division.

Regarding his directing debut, Param has been incredibly quiet, but the film is getting buzz because of his history with the TV networks he has worked with. Additionally, Dhananjaya expressed his excitement for his film with Param in a previous interview with the media. With Kotee’s production having started a year ago, there is conjecture that the teaser will reveal the film’s release date in theaters and may even be Dhananjaya’s upcoming film.
